Little Sunshine- Mixed Media Panel

Hello everyone,

Fairuz Fabiha here and welcome to the EC blog. Today I’ll be showing you how to use EC products to create a beautiful monochromatic project.

Today’s project is inspired by ‘Monochrome  theme’ that mainly came from the expressions craft September challenge mood board. 

For today I wanted to create a contrast of light and bright by using different shades of the same color. I chose the color yellow as it’s such a happy color. Yellow is a color associated with sun. It symbolizes optimism, energy, joy, happiness and friendship.

So for the base, I’ve used a plastic wood panel. The composition is done using expressions craft chipboards, flowers and used an image for the focal point.

At first I have used EC heavy white gesso to prime the base. Then for the textures I’ve used sunny yellow embossing powder and micro deco stones. And for coloring I’ve only used Amber gold chroma burst. For highlighting the elements, I’ve used soft glitter gold shimmer paint and gold metallic stencil paste.

Galaxy Themed Mixed Media Piece

 Hello everyone,

Fairuz Fabiha here and welcome to the EC blog. Today I’ll be showing you how to use EC products on dark background to create a galaxy themed project.

Today’s project is inspired by ‘Galaxy theme’ that mainly came from the expressions craft August challenge mood board. 

For today I wanted to create a contrast of light and dark by using a black base and creating galaxy effect over it.

So for the base, I’ve used a plastic wood panel in a half moon shape. The composition is done using expressions craft chipboards and used an image for the focal point.

At first I have used EC heavy black gesso to prime the base. Then I’ve used the beautiful bloom stencil along with the black granite paste to add some textures. And for coloring the whole thing I used heartsome viola and royal peacock metallic spray and silk magic magenta chroma burst. For highlighting the elements, I’ve used soft glitter gold and purple affair metallic paints.

Shabby Chic Mixed Media Piece

Today’s project is inspired by ‘Shabby Chic- Pinks and Grays’ theme that mainly came from the expressions craft July challenge mood board. 

I’ve decided to use pinks, lilac and grays as the color scheme and decorated the house shaped base with Expressions craft flowers and chipboards. As this months product highlights are metallic paints, gesso and chalk paints, I decided to go with the metallic paint and gesso in many different ways to create this perfect shabby chic project.

BE THE EXCEPTION- MIXED MEDIA PANEL

Fairuz Fabiha here and welcome to the EC blog. Today I’ll be showing you how to create a mixed media panel.

Today’s project is inspired by ‘Rust Effects’ that mainly came from the expressions craft June challenge mood board. 

For today I wanted to create a contrast of light and dark by using a white base and creating dark rust effect over it.

So for the base, I’ve used a plastic wood panel. The composition is done using expressions craft chipboards and clay embellishments.

At first I have used EC heavy white gesso to prime the base. Then I’ve used the metal plate stencil along with the dazzling diamond glitter paste to add some textures and heat embossed it with frosted silver and turquoise blue embossing powder. For more textures and interest I added the Black Granite paste from immix. And for coloring the whole thing I used rowdy rust, royal peacock spray and amber gold, old metal rust and tea cup teal chroma burst. For highlighting the elements, I’ve used soft glitter gold and mermaid song metallic paints.
