Five different ways of using Immix embossing powders

 Hey Creative folks.....

This is Madhurima Dutta here and I am extremely glad to join the Expressions craft Design Team as a new member. As most of you might be aware that Bhavani Maam has launched some great exciting new products in the "September launch". I got my hands on some of the beautiful shades of the embossing powder and so here I will be sharing five different ways on how you can use these embossing powders in your mixed media project as well as to create embellishments and backgrounds for your cards, tags or bookmarks.

Here are the colour swatches of the 12 different colours that I have received in my DT kit.

Now let's start with the different techniques of using the gorgeous embossing powders.

1. Coloring chipboards: Chipboards or any die-cuts can be coloured with the EPs to give them a beautiful finish

2. The  "resist technique": The embossed areas on any surface can act as a resist and this allows one to colour the background with different colours and mediums to give lovely textures

What happens if you do not have an embossing ink pad or you are new to embossing and just want to try your hands on the embossing technique altogether. Then I have the perfect solution for you i.e., "TEXTURE PASTE". I am sure all of you have some kind of texture paste or heavy-bodied gesso in your stash. Use those guys as your embossing ink and you will end up with some amazing results. The expressions craft " Ice and Snow" texture paste gives the best results with the embossing powders.

3Embossing on a coloured background: The EPs can be used in any coloured backgrounds to give cool effects. Here I have tried to create a galaxy background and have embossed the stars using stencils, texture paste and EPs.

4. Creating a gradient background: Mix and match different coloured EPs to make your own colourful backgrounds. The EPs blends well together and will give some beautiful results.

5. Using white & black texture paste: The immix EPs have a dual-tone effect i.e., it shows different colour tones when used on a white and black surface. For the next technique to jazz things up a bit I have coloured the white texture paste with 'gamma black chroma burst' from expressions craft to make my customized black texture paste and used that on a white tag along with the EPs to give a cool effect.

In a similar manner on a black tag, I have used the white texture paste and the EPs to make a vibrant background.
