Through Santa's Eyes... (Photo Tutorial)

Greetings everyone!

This is Isha Pai and today I am here on the blog to share a detailed photo tutorial of my project "Through Santa's Eyes" which goes very well with the current monthly theme 

Winter Celebration.

This project depicts a beautiful house which is decorated for Christmas and Santa is spying on the house through the window on when and how to get into the house. Also, in this project the reindeer stands camouflage with the wall of the house, as he is sent by Santa himself to have a close look of the house.

In this project I have used newly launched chippies like Mistletoe (leaf and berries) and Pillar flourish frame.

Let's begin with the photo tutorial:

Step 1: I took an 8" by 8" MDF base, with panel of a window. And few newly launched chippes. The picture shows snowflake and star chippies also, but I decided to not use in the project as it will go unnoticed. 

Step 2: Then after pasting the window panel with glue gun, I pasted few molded bricks and later applied a coat of Heavy White Gesso with the help of a sponge dabber and then added Deco art stones mixed with Opaque Matte Texture Paste.  

Step 3: Applied a thin coat of Heavy White Gesso and then painted the reindeer with Sprinkle Mist Chest Nut  and two Christmas trees with Sprinkle Mist Deep Teal Blue. Also painted the mistletoe chippie with Metallic paints like - Ancient gold, Wedding Red and Mermaid Song. And painted Pillar flourish frame chippie with ancient gold metallic paint.

Step 4: Then I colored the base with Sprinkle Mists - Blaze Orange, Chest Nut and Deep teal blue.

Lastly I pasted all the embellishments with some dried moss and enhanced the Winter look with Ice & Snow Texture Paste and Rainbow Sparks.

Materials used in this project are:

1. Heavy White Gesso

2. Opaque Matte texture paste

3. Ice & Snow Texture Paste

4. Deco stones Mini and Medium

5. Sprinkle Mist - Chest Nut, Deep Teal Blue and Blaze Orange

6. Metallic Paints - Wedding red, Mermaid song and Ancient Gold 

7. Chipboard - Mistletoe and Pillar Flourish Frame

8. Rainbow Sparks

WINTERY DREAMS- INSPIRATIONAL POST

Hi friends, 
Today its Inspirational monday !!so am back with my project for our Current Month Challenge. In this i have used the newly released chipboards and created this winter scene.I have also made some embellishments such as flowers and leaves using chroma burst and decorated the panel.Take a look at these snaps of my works.

Beautiful winter canvas with textere paste. Photo tutorial.

Hello all!

This is Irina Chebotareva (IraChe). 

Today I, IraChe, with the unique photo tutorial about creation of mixed media canvas, inspired by our month theme "Winter celebrations".

In this canvas I want to show how the last Autumn leaves was covered with thin ice. Then they set their lacy imprint on it.

here is the step by step process,
I took a thick cardstock for the base. I cover it with white gesso.

Then I cover all with texture paste. To made an leaves imprint I lay leaves on wet paste cover and pull they down. In empty places between leaves I add texture paste too.

When, the paste dry up (not completly) I remove the leaves. Then I left the paste to dry.

And started to coloring. I used Chroma Burst. I wet the canvas with water spray and I added color to veins, first - fresh water, after - silk magic magenda. In the end I added some drops of Golden glow.

Spaces beetwen leaves I cover with Glitters Fairy dust and Magic Sparks on Art gel medium gloss.

After I soften colors with white gesso.
And finally I got beautiful winter canvas.

Monday inspiration - Archana & Vidhi

Hello folks,

Hope you all are doing well ! Its Inspirational Monday, so we have beautiful projects lined up for you guys to get inspired, today we have our very Talented DT members Archana &vidhi to inspire you all with their projects in Winter celebrations theme...over to Archana

Hey everyone this is DT Archana here, we have amazing theme for this month "Winter Celebration ", so I have created this project as a inspiration..

Supplies Used:

Mini Canvas
Immix ground texture paste "White Sand"
Immix sprinkle mist "British Racing Green""Forest Green" and "Chimney Smoke"
Immix White gesso
Immix fairy dust 
Expressions Craft Chipboard Embellishment "Christmas"

To create this super simple mixed media canvas, first I spread Immix ground texture paste "White sand" using palate knife... This will create beautiful wintery background...

Next I placed Expressions Craft grey chipboard embellishment, I also applied little bit of ground texture paste on chipboard as well..

I covered entire canvas using Immix White gesso, Once layer of gesso dries completely, I colored the canvas using Immix's sprinkle mist "British Racing Grey", "Forest Green" and "Chimney Smoke"

Next I applied white gesso using dry brush technique and also added some fairy dust, and!!!! Our super simple canvas is ready...

Hello all,

            This is Vidhi here, Today I am going to share my scrapbook layout for a Monday Inspiration Project. It has a beautiful glitter,sparks and chipboard from Expression Craft! These are amazing for any scrapbook lover... Clear gesso is even amazing product for any scrapbook lover. 

                I used Ice and Snow paste as a texture paste with stencil for a background. Did you see an effect ? It looks so light like a light paste??? perfect for any shabby chic, soft layouts. I love the cabbage flowers from Expression craft! They are so cute and perfect for winter and christmas decoration.

           Hope you love this layout! I used my younger daughter's photo as a surprise gift for Christmas. Still its time for Christmas so till then don't open it :)

Hello Everyone!

Hope you all are doing great! today ma here with my another project i.e Gift box ..without further delay let me just share the process here

Used classic New Year colors. sharing the glimpse of my projects below, dont forget to watch the video at the end



Got a warm shade of gray by mixing white hesso, black hesso and yellow paint.


I mixed ArtMedium and metallic paints and got a voluminous texture paste.


The surface flickers like snow because I used sparkles.

Mixed Media Altered MDF Board

Hello Everyone,
This is DT Archana here,  Am back with another altered Mixed media chop board, step by step photo tutorial as follows..

Supplies Used:
MDF Board
Immix ground texture paste "Ice & Snow"
Immix Glass beads texture gel medium
Cheese Cloth
Immix sprinkle mist "British Racing Green"
Immix White gesso
Immix fairy dust 
Clay Embellisment
Expressions Craft Chipboard Embellishment "Pollen Flower Circle Frame"

 

On a MDF panel I spread Immix ground texture paste "Ice & Snow" using palate knife randomly, I have covered entire base with this paste, and created texture using dabbing technique (touching palate knife on wet paste and lift)

Once it dries completely I covered base using Immix White gesso and next I adhere Expressions craft chipboard embellishment and added Immix glass beads texture gel medium as you can see in below image..

To build more interest around the focal point I also adhere cheese cloth and then pasted clay embellishment, and next I covered entire project using Immix white gesso....

 

 I colored the project using Immix sprinkle mist "British Racing Green"

I applied white gesso using dry brush technique to highlight the dimensional parts, and also added Immix fairy dust on the project randomly..
