After I made a mix: black Gesso, Deco stones Micro, Texture paste, Art Medium mate and sand.

And cover all the cover with that mix. Cheapboard, decor and Deco stones Micro and Mini was glued on top.

After I used Metallic Paints Holiday Gold and Raw Umber as base colors and MERMAID SONG, Hunter Green for details. Add rust drops with mixed WEDDING RED, Coral Peony, Pale Sunset Gold

Canvas Art For Beginners 'Sea Shore'

Hello everyone!!
Ruchi here from Ruchi's Crafeteria and I'm back with my another DT project.
This time I've created A Canvas Art for beginners who wants to try their hands in Mixed Media art but don't know how and where to start. This post gonna be helpful for you and at the end you will get lots of ideas to try for :)
Have a look..

I adhered all the junk pieces using immix gel medium. It's a versatile product and can be use for gluing, sealant, can mix with chalk paints and metallic paints. Possibilities are endless.

I've used weave stencil along with texture paste to create waves on my canvas. This paste dries quickly and gives you even and smooth finish. You can find this paste on Expressions Craft store. I've mentioned the link of that product at the end of this post.

To give some sea colors.. I've applied Deep Teal blue sprinkle mist and Hunter Green metallic paint. Did a bit stamping and adhered all the other elements like chipboard, flower, beads, pearls and rhinestones to give complete look.

I've captured all the process in a video. You can watch the tutorial here

Supplies used:

That's it for today. Hope you like my today's project.
See you all next time with more inspirations.
Happy Crafting!!

Mixed media canvas with patina effect

Hello everyone.

DT Shweta here today on Expressions Craft blog with a new project. I have created a patina effect mixed media canvas using mainly the paints and the art gel medium. Also I have used some waste chipboard negatives in this canvas. Check this out.

I started off by covering an MDF base with Art Essential Heavy Gesso White.

After it dried, I applied Crackle Texture Paste through a beautiful stencil.

Used a bunch of embellishments- different chippies, handmade flowers, chipboard negatives and clay embellishments and covered them all with white gesso.

Then adhered them all on the base and formed a composition. You need not worry about the weird shapes of the negatives because they form a great abstract pattern when layered and add additional depth to the project.

Mixed Deco Stones with Art Gel Medium and filled in the gaps. Covered the whole thing with white gesso again.

Then started off by using the Hunter Green metallic paint first and applied it subtly around my composition and dabbed heavily on the composition.

Then used Tiffany chalk paint and dabbed it randomly on the composition.

Then mixed some Sprinkle Glitz and sand with the art gel medium and applied it on the canvas. This added some fine textures to the project.

Then used the Browney Rust metallic paint and dry brushed it on the canvas. Rubbed it with fingers wherever necessary. This gave a nice patina finish to the project.

Check out the pictures.
